How to refit the Citroën DS3 dashboard
Since you will need to run the wires through the back of the dashboard, start by fitting an 8 to 10 cm long (3 to 4 inches) threaded rod in the one of each of the two nuts on each side of the car as shown.
This is indeed a temporary measure that allows you to keep the dashboard away from the car body by a few inches so you can put your hands behind it and run whatever wires and connectors.
Hold the threaded rod with a nut but tighten only by hand and just a little as you will need to take these back off the car once done with the wires.

Two persons are now needed to hold the dashboard facing the rods, but before, the person standing to the driver's side, needs to let the steering column pass through its opening, then both persons have to hang it on the rods.
Once done, add a nut to the end of the threaded rod to avoid that the dashboard slips out while working behind it and as usual do not tighten any nut with a tool, just by hand so everything temporary can be later easily removed.
Slide the dashboard out to the max on its rods to create space behind it.

Running wire harnesses behind the dashboard
Proceed now with the meticulous running of all wires and harnesses behind the dashboard, this also includes the tweeters indeed. Bring all connectors out from each of the concerned opening in the dashboard so you can later easily connect the different instrument and button panels and displays.
Take care to push the cable fixing clips into the holes provided for this purpose; it is imperative to secure the cables and not let them dangle behind the dashboard.

Once you're sure that all wire harnesses have been properly run and clipped to their fixing points, proceed as follows:
- put one bolt under each of the threaded rods but do not tighten them, just make sure they hold strongly to the nut.
- put back the dashboard bottom leg
- remove the threaded rods and replace them with the bolts, and push again the dashboard in until full contact with the car body
- refit the bolt behind the instruments panel without tightening it
- refit the bolt of the leg to the car floor chassis
- refit the bolts that hold the steering column to the crossbar
- refit the bolts that hold the A/C unit to the crossbar
- tighten all bolts until full contact first, then tighten them symmetrically on opposite sides.
Do not forget to reconnect all connectors like the radio antenna, also to refit all lights like the one of the central console (second picture).
Refit the central console, the armrest and all the plastic panels in reverse order of their dismounting.
Refit the instruments panel, the LCD display the A/C control unit, the ESP button panel, the car radio, the front aerators panel, etc.
Refit the plastic panels behind the steering wheel, the steering wheel and the driver's airbag, see our dedicated page.

Remove all temporary protections like the duct tape we had advised to put on the gear lever plate to avoid damage.
Start the car and make sure all works well, that's it!
