Replacement of the fuel filter cartridge on the Peugeot 3008, 5008 and Citroën Aircross
- Make sure your car key is not in the vehicle and the driver's door is closed to avoid pressurizing the fuel system.
- Start by disconnecting the fuel pipes connectors from the filter.
- In this case, both connectors can be freed by pulling out a safety tab with a flathead screwdriver as shown.
- One of them is made of a plastic orange color ring and the other is made of a metallic strap.
- Do so carefully since most fuel filter connectors are fragile and can break very easily especially when the plastics start to age.
- Once you remove the safety blocking tabs, you can pull out the connectors of the fuel filter, by pressing on the white tab with your fingers.
- Caution! Fuel will leak from the tube, but especially from the filter.
- Do so on one connector at a time and immediately plug the filter using the caps provided on the new cartridge.
Now take out the fuel filter of its holder and install the new one, ensuring the flow arrow is aligned with the old one. This arrow should point toward the fuel line leading to the engine.
Slide the filter into its holder until you hear a "click" signaling that the holding tabs have closed securely.
Don't trust the plastic support and connectors, simply secure each with a cable tie as shown:
