Symptoms of a clogged car A/C cabin filter

  1. Car A/C is overall less efficient, yet the pulsed air from the A/C grilles on the dashboard is cold
  2. Excessive A/C fan noise inside the car
  3. Air getting out of the A/C diffusers is too cold
  4. Air flow is reduced, put your hand facing an A/C diffuser and pull it out slowly, you will notice the pulsed air reaches a shorter distance
  5. Uncomfortable ambience inside the car at night, with the A/C being too cold
  6. Uncomfortable ambience inside the car under the sun, with the A/C lacking efficiency

Peugeot 3008 - 5008 II cabin (pollen) filter location

The cabin filter of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 of the second generation is located within the dashboard central console, and is accessible from the right side of the vehicle.
Look well from beneath the glove box of your 3008 or 5008 SUV and you will notice that a small removable trap is there. Use a small screwdriver to take it out and unscrew the Torx head bolt that's inside. 
Gently pull out the plastic panel that covers the Air conditioning unit of the 3008 - 5008 SUVs:
Take also the panel beneath the glove box of the 3008 / 5008 Phase 2 by removing the three holding clips as shown; ​pull it downwards:
This uncovers the access trap to the cabin filter of the 3008 and 5008:

You can take out the nearby air hose to better reach the latch of the cabin filter trap so you can take it out:
This uncovers the two cabin filter elements inside the air conditioning unit of the 3008 or 5008 SUV:
Pull them out starting indeed with the one on top, then the lower one:

Refitting a new cabin filter in a Peugeot 3008 or 5008 SUV

If you have a vacuum machine at hand, clean the cabin filter compartment prior to refitting the new one:
Make sure the air flow arrow on the cabin filter points towards the back of the car when refitting the new cabin filters to the Peugeot 3008 and 5008. Reverse above steps.
