Making sure of the right tools for changing spark plugs on TCe engine
Start by buying the spark plugs and checking that you do have the right socket, a 14mm straight socket to be used with a 3/8" racthet handle. Sockets for 1/4" handles won't go inside the spark plug well of the Renault 0.9L engine.
Removing the spark plugs on a Renault TCe engine
Use a size 8 elbow socket or ratchet socket to unscrew the bolts of the ignition coils, then disconnect them and pull them up to extract them.
Gently introduce he socket with a 20 cm extension, fit the ratchet handle and unscrew all spark plugs.

Use a magnet pick-up tool to take out the spark plugs.

Refitting new spark plugs
At the time we write this pictorial, the recommended spark plug by Renault for its TCe 90 engine is the NGK ILKAR7J7G.
Hold the new spark plug with your finger to the wall of its well and let it go down slowly.
Use again the 14mm 12-point socket and extension to tighten the spark plug by hand. Do not use the handle at this stage.
Then use a torque wrench set at 2.5 mKg for tightening the spark plugs.
If you have no torque wrench, tighten by 1/8th of a turn after firm contact.
