Symptoms of defective washing machine shock absorber pistons

The most obvious symptom that anyone can easily notice remains that the washing machine moves when spinning, especially during the acceleration phase. If you were not there, you will notice the washing machine jumped by up to a meter out of its place!

How to replace the washing machine dampers

  • Disconnect the electrical cable, the water and drainage hoses and tilt your washing machine to lay it on one of its sides.
  • Look through its bottom and you will see the shock absorbers
  • Take out their fixing bolts with a spanner
Pull the drum damper out of its seats, push its piston inside and measure it so you can buy an equivalent.
Reverse all steps for installation. That's it!
