Pictorial for adjusting wardrobe doors
- Some heavy load misaligned these doors. The realignment is done while the load is kept in place.
-The doors are almost parallel but the left one is low. It needs to be lifted first and before any tilting attempt.
- Out of the 6 screws of a hinge, only the four that are inside the cupboard are used for adjustments.
- Loosen the 2 screws that fix the hinge to the wood for each of the 2 or 3 door hinges.
- Lift the door up with one hand and tighten the screws with the other. This did not eliminate the gap completely.
- On the bottom hinge of the left door: loosen the adjustment screw to the left just a little.
- Then loosen the one to the right. You could not have done 7 without proceeding with step 6 first.
- Come back to the left screw and tighten it until the door touches the other one when closed but still closes.
- Now go to the right door and loosen the right screw of the bottom hinge to tilt it left. Tighten the left screw.
- Tighten the right screw of the top hinge to tilt it more. You will need to repeat steps 6 and 7 on this hinge to be able to tighten the screw.
- The wardrobe doors are back to a perfect alignment.
Note: In case a wardrobe door is to be pulled out or pushed in, you need to loosen the outer adjustment screw, then the inner one, pull out or push in the door while open and tighten again the inner screw. |
