Start by designing your garden pond
Excavating the garden pond
The location has been marked here with a white powder like old white cement you find in your workshop or flour or whatever serves the purpose.
It is also important to note the proximity of the power supply in the nearby basement (right).

The excavation is carried out to the required dimensions (left).

Building pond floor and walls
A PE sheet is first laid into the excavation hole and a level line temporarily fitted for later controlling the floor level.
A few concrete blocks are purchased for constructing the pond walls:
Pond masonry and plastering in progress:
Pump, filter, lighting and pond testing:
- Pump and light are first tested in a bath tub (left).
- The filter is home-made out of a plastic bottle (middle left).
- The pump and filter are then fitted to the jar (middle right).
- The light is fixed to the pond floor (right).
