Simple compost box made with green bamboos
This box was made in a few hours using green bamboos directly collected from a wild piece of nature.
It allows to store leaves and other plant litter in an aerated and drained box so they change into compost used to nourrish plants with vitamins and other nutrients.

The bamboos were cut using garden shears with long handles.

Preparing the bamboos for assembly
The box was quickly designed on a piece of paper to determine the number and length of the bamboo sticks.
The sticks at each corner of the square bamboo box will be cut longer on purpose for an easy identification.

The hacksaw fitted with its blade for metals is ideal for cutting the bamboo sticks:
Once cut, the bamboo stick as aligned all together with the 1 inch longer sticks at the corners placed in their position prior to start the assembly of the compost box:

Assembling the bamboo composter with ropes
Use a natural rope and make a knot before the first bamboo then simply make a loop aroung each and every bamboo stick:
Make again a knot after the last stick so the bamboos are held all together with a first rope.
You need two ropes, one a few centimeters from each end of the bamboo sticks.

Use natural rope (Hemp, Manila) of a small diameter i.e. 2 to 3 mm.
Do not hesitate to split your rope prior to use as shown in the middle picture:

Once done, align well all bamboo sticks to the same level at any of their ends:

Now put the bamboos vertically and shape the box approximately then make knots with the excess ropes in a manner to attach them as the walls of a closed box:
Measure the inner side of the square, cut to size bamboo sticks and attach them with rope as shown in the middle picture in order to form the box.
The compost box is starting to take shape!
A steel trellis is used to make the bottom while bamboo sticks of a smaller diameter are assembled together to form a nice and practical rolling cover:

A stick is added to the middle of the box bottom to reinforce the trellis.
You can also use two sticks in diagonal to provide more rigidity to your box.

Unlimited creativity with bamboo and metal trellis: compost basket
You can reverse the above composter design by using more trellis and less bamboo, and consider a circular shape instead of square, the material is so flexible that it can fit freely adapt to your will and imagination.
The bamboo in this case is only used as a decoration and to make the compost basket heavier for more stability.
