Before buying clip lid glass jars or replacement rubber seals:

  • Weck glass jars with silicone gasket seals do not require any particular caution.
  • The natural rubber seals like the ones shown here will dry up, show cracks and break if kept in the jar when the latter is not used.
  • This is particularly true in countries with a hot climate or at least in summer time.
To protect your seals, you just need to remove them from the unused jar and put them in the fridge. ​As simple, and they can last years...
