Step 1: disconnect the car battery terminals (clamps)
Always start by disconnecting the positive (red) terminal first, followed by the negative (black) terminal.
Unscrew the battery terminal clamp nut without removing it and use a flat and big screwdriver to open the clamp so it can be easily taken out of the battery terminal.

Refitting a new battery and testing the car charging system.
Make sure first that the battery you purchased does match the below:
- Capacity expressed in Ah (Ampere-hour)
- Cranking current expressed in A (Ampere)
- Overal dimensions, specifically the height
- Position of the positive and negative battery terminals (right / left)
Place the battery on its tray and let it slide inside its holders from the back side prior to refitting the hold-down bracket plate and refixing it with the bolt.
Re-attach the cables clamps to the battery terminals (negatve first) but do not overtighten the bolts, just enough to ensure a firm hold. Start your vehicle and read the voltage at the battery terminals which should be around 14V.
If you have no instrument (multimeter) to read the voltage, just make sure the battery warning light is not On in your dashboard.
