Lebanese Labneh...
Or simply Labneh, because it's Lebanese anyhow...a delicious naturally low fat spread cheese made overnight out of yogurt, thus out of fresh milk.
It is widely consumed in Lebanon at breakfast and dinner, with olive oil, tomatoes, cucumbers, mint leaves or "zaatar" (a Lebanese herb mix mainly made with dried thyme).
When garlic is added to it, or "toum" in Lebanese, it becomes part of the famous Lebanese meze.
This version of labneh involves making it into balls and dipping it in olive oil for long-term preservation.

Labneh balls in olive oil recipe
To make Labneh balls, you need first to make Labneh, click on the below link to see how.
Open the Labneh bag, remove the Labneh and put it in a bowl and add a bit of salt.
You can make plain Labneh balls or add herbs and spices to them.
If you decide to give some additional taste and benefits to your Labneh, prepare herbs and condiments, in this case from left to right:

- Dried mint
- Dried thyme
- Ground red chilies

Mix the herbs or condiments to the Labneh in a dish, each of them separately.
With your hand, make balls of a table tennis ball size as shown and carefully put the Labneh balls in a glass jar.
Add olive oil until the balls are completely covered.
Put in the fridge and enjoy your Labneh which can be preserved up to a year or more.

Use a spreader knife to serve the Labneh balls which you can enjoy on any type and piece of fresh or toasted bread at breakfast or dinner!
