Context of a quick radiator leak fix
The above shown radiator belongs to a turbo fitted engine. The heat generated by the turbo accelerates the ageing of the upper plastic parts of the radiator which become brittle and can show signs of cracks at a relatively advanced mileage, 165,000 Km in this case.
The radiator crack will lead to a coolant leak which is easily visible when the engine is hot.
If you notice this leak while driving and before the engine starts overheating, it is wise to stop the car and have a quick leak fix applied before risking an overhead gasket breakage or a more severe overhead damage.
This leak fix is indeed temporary until you replace the radiator.
The early symptoms of a crack in a radiator plastic top cover are as follows:

The early symptoms of a crack in a radiator plastic top cover are as follows:
- Sudden drop of coolant level
- Coolant level sensor goes on while driving
- Engine does not necessarily overheat
- Visible and audible coolant and water vapor leak when inspecting the radiator
- Strong smell of coolant inside the car
- Traces of coolant drops and splashes all over the top of engine

Fixing a leaking radiator causing no engine overheating
Buy a quick setting epoxy adhesive, not the crystal (transparent) one, rather the grey one as shown below.
Let your car cool down for half an hour and clean the radiator top cover with tissue, enough to remove excess dirt.
Mix well the two epoxy components, hardener and resin, until the mix is uniform then apply the epoxy adhesive directly to the radiator crack.
Apply some 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) more (wider than the crack) in both directions.

Let the epoxy dry for 20 minutes before topping up the coolant level and driving the car again.
Avoid driving uphill since this leak fix could not withstand very high coolant temperature and pressure, rather provide a safe enough temporary solution until the radiator is replaced i.e. for a few hundred kilometers driven downhill or on a level road or highway. Turn off your A/C if you have to climb and drive with the windows open.
