Opening the camera body for accessing the monitor
This Olympus SP-800UZ camera had its screen (monitor) damaged for the second time following a fall from around 1m height.
The bridge screen turns all white in a matter of a few days and the camera is no more operable.
Replacing it at a professional workshop costs not less than 50 to 80$ while a DIY monitor replacement could cost as little as 10$ which is the price of one of many online available spare monitors.

You need a spare monitor and a set of precision screwdrivers found everywhere to replace the LCD screen of your Olympus camera.
Start by identifying the back part of the Olympus SP-800UZ body and where it can be separated from the rest of the body.
Take out the battery.
Remove all visible screws. Work on a towel or cloth to avoid that the screws roll to the ground and get lost and make sure to remember the length of each screw as they are not all identical.
Start by gently separating the Olympus SP-800US body in order to discover the hidden screws (this pictorial will show their location but in case you are dismantling another model)

Using a flat (slotted) precision screwdriver open the flap of the connector upwards (left) and pull out the damaged monitor.
Refit the new one exactly the same way and close the connector's flap very gently after making sure you did properly insert the connecting strip of the new monitor.
This is the most delicate part of the Olympus SP-800UZ monitor replacement. You would need to repeat this step in case your new monitor does not work properly.
