Why electrical tools are ideally stored and organized in a soft bag

A soft tool bag is much elegant and practical.
It is also safe since it causes less damage and avoids injuries if you accidentally hit yourself or any object when carrying your tool bag. Its only disadvantage: a soft bag can quickly get dirty and be difficult to clean making it impossible to use for garden or car mechanics tools for example. Not even plumbing tools...
