1- Locate the manhole nearby the toilet.

2- Flush your toilet twice.

3- Make sure the gas barrier you purchased is identical to the existing one.
4- Remove by hand the old one and fit the new rubber barrier while taking care to push it into its place all around the manhole circumference.

5- You will notice the difference: the old one got stiff and hardened, the new one is soft and flexible. You are done. The lifetime of such barrier is typically 3 to 5 years.
