How to remove the damaged toilet seat (toilet cover)
This wooden seat cover ended up being severely damaged and needs replacement.
Toilet seat covers are held by two screws to the back of the seat.
The nuts are a bit of a difficult access but you can always manage by sitting on the closed toilet and reaching them with your hand. Eventually, you would need pliers to loosen the nut or else you need no tools at all for this intervention.
Simply pull up the toilet seat cover after unscrewing their holding nuts. The screws will come out along with the toilet seat cover.

Fitting universal one-size-fits-all toilet seats
The universal toilet seat is supplied with plastic screws which distance can be adjusted reason why they are universal. They do have a shape that is in between round and oval toilet seats so they match more or less any seat. Adjust their holding bolts distance to the holes in your toilet, insert the screws and fix the cover with the nuts from beneath.
It works and it is cheap to buy and easy to find in supermarkets and hardware shops despite the fact the shape of a universal toilet seat is not a 100% match with the toilet.

Replacing a toilet seat with an original one
The original toilet seat is more difficult to find and quite more expensive than the universal cover. Its advantages are first a 100% shape and size match and second a longer lifetime that could reach up to 20 years and maybe more.
They are fitted exactly the same way than universal toilet seats except that their screws are already at a distance that matches the holes of the toilet. No adjustment is needed.
