Peugeot I-COCKPIT interior - Automatic gear box

In which vehicles is the Peugeot I-COCKPIT fitted?

The Peugeot I-COCKPIT can be found on number of Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles vehicles.

This tutorial is shown on a Peugeot 5008 2020 year model, equipped with an EAT6 automatic transmission.

The below explains how to drive Peugeot and Citroën models equipped with this gearbox and the I-COCKPIT software.

Presentation of the I-COCKPIT

The I-COCKPIT consists of the below elements:

A keyless entry system
A double-flat steering wheel of a small diameter
An automatic gearbox selector that has two movements only
Gear change levers behind the steering wheel
Customizable dashboard display
Centralized controls in piano keys style buttons and a touchscreen tablet, the "Human Machine Interface" of the car

Starting the engine in an I-COCKPIT vehicle

Once you get close to the car, you can open the door and access its cabin.
With the key in your pocket or bag, or wherever inside the car, you can:

Either press the ENGINE START button without pressing the brake pedal and have the interior of the vehicle powered up
Or, press both the brake pedal and ENGINE START button and have the engine starting
For turning off the engine, just press on the ENGINE START button again. This will automatically set the gearbox to the Park mode and cause the electric parking brake to engage, in case you were driving and just stopped.

As soon as the START button is pressed:

You will hear the steering wheel lock disengaging
You will indeed hear the engine starting
You will see the dials or whatever info in the dashboard "coming to life"

Driving a Peugeot / Citroën / DS with an I-COCKPIT system

Press the LOCK button (left side) with your thumb and push the gearbox lever towards the dashboard if you wish to engage the Rear gear or towards you if you intend to move forward.

The gearbox does not shift from Park to Rear or Park to Drive unless passing each time by the Neutral so you have to push it twice.

A small LED indicator on the lever itself tells you which gear is engaged, also on the dashboard indeed.

Just press the gas pedal and the car will release the electric parking brake automatically.

Customizing the dashboard in an I-COCKPIT equipped vehicle

Rotate the cylinder shaped button to the left of the steering wheel down or up for changing the display of the dashboard.
You can force it to the minimum possible display of info, or classic dials, or a customizable view showing the consumption, autonomy, etc.
In the customizable mode, use the button at the tip of the windshield wipers control arm (switch) to select the desired information to be displayed on your I-COCKPIT dashboard.

Some driving tips with the Peugeot I-COCKPIT Software

If you stop yet intend to leave the engine running, you can press on the P of the gearbox handle to engage the Park gear and lift up the parking brake button to engage the "handbrake".
You can then securely leave the vehicle.

While driving you can use the manual gearbox control levers, "paddle shifters", behind the steering wheel to change gear, even if you're in Drive mode.

In case you wish to take control of the gearbox, just press on the M button then use the gear paddle shifters behind the steering wheel to change gear.

A Sport mode is available on the automatic gearbox which use results in the car favoring short gears for more power. To be used typically when driving uphill on a steep slope with a lot of curves and turns.
