Use any of a lemon peel, lemon juice, lemon, or homemade lemon cleaning paste to rub the cup or mug with your hands without using any sponge.
Make sure to apply a thick coat of lemon as shown in the left picture then clean the cup or mug under running water and you will immediately notice the disappearance of the tea stains.
