Replacing a basin pop up (pop-up) stopper

1- Your basin pop up plug doesn't pop up anymore even when its handle is pushed down?
2- Remove the pop up stopper and inspect it. Check the pin tip which should be round and flat.
3- This plug is extremely worn with more than two thirds of the bottom screw being eroded. It needs replacement.
The fix consists in buying a new pop up plug, trying it in the basin and adjust its opening gap.
Proceed as follows:
  1. Try the new pop up stopper you purchased and check if it is lifted enough when pushing down the handle.
  2. If not, loosen the nut and unscrew the pin a few turns and try again until the gap is satisfactory
  3. Close the pop up plug and make sure also it is tight (well closed) in this position
  4. Block the screw by tightening the nut.
​The pop up plug is now ready and pops up again.
