- Use any Basmati rice and any cooking pot with a thick bottom plate and a tight cover.
- Do not wash the rice.
- Put the water in the cooking pot and bring it to a boil with the cooking pot covered.
Once the water starts boiling, reduce heat to the lowest setting of the stove and add:
- The rice
- The turmeric
- The olive oil
- Salt
- Keep the cooking pot covered at all times except when you stir the rice which is required every 5 minutes meaning a couple of times.
- Cook your rice for a total of 17 minutes from the moment you added all ingredients.
- Once the 17 minutes are over, remove the cooking pot from heat and let it rest covered for another 5 minutes.
- Do not open the cover during this time.
- Your rice is now ready.
