Symptoms of worn anti roll bar (stabilizer bar) bushes
- Metal to metal hammer noise (clunking)
- Frequent noise, frequency keeps increasing within days and weeks
- Frequency is higher on a cold car or in cold weather
- Can be heard at low speeds more than high speeds
- Noise on one side only

Replacing the anti-roll bar bushes, shown on Dacia / Renault Duster
Remove the engine protection plate (if any) and follow the anti roll bar to each side in order to find the bushes.

Unscrew the two bolts that hold the support which keeps the stabilizer bar bushing held to the car chassis.
The bushing is split as shown in the right picture, which allows you to take it out of the anti roll bar without having to remove the anti roll bar links or the bar itself.

Refitting new anti-roll bar bushes
Spread graphite grease on the bushing hole.
Insert the bushing into the sway bar, put the U-shaped holder on top of it and use a C-clamp to push it down the bushing.
Refit the bolts and tighten them. That's it!
