Why and how often should you clean your room air conditioner filters?
All room air conditioners like this split unit have filters which need to be cleaned on regular basis and at least 4 times a year.
If you don't clean the filters of your air conditioner, you could face one or more of the below symptoms:

- Reduced efficiency due to less airflow coming out of the air conditioner
- Discomfort in the room despite having the air conditioner fan running at the highest speed
- Lack of uniformity in the cold air distribution
- Increased allergy or running nose condition
Where are the split ac filters located and how to clean them?
- Split A/C filters are located below the front cover your room unit.
- All front covers are hinged from top and open as shown in the below picture.
- Applies absolutely to all split ac makes: York, Carrier, Gree, Samsung, LG, etc.
There are 2 ac filters that you can remove by pulling them out of their fixing clips then sliding them towards you.

Gently clean your air conditioner filters with warm to hot water in your kitchen sink.
Water flow from the tap is usually enough to clean them and remove the sticky dust or else you could brush your A/C filters with an old toothbrush.
Refitting the ac filters
Allow the A/C filters to dry prior to refitting them. Close well the A/C indoor unit cover.
