Put little water in a cast iron cooking pot then add the Helda beans (flat green beens), some salt and start cooking covered at medium heat.
Cut the tomatoes and onion as shown.
Peel the garlic cloves.
Peel the garlic cloves.
Add all onto the Helda beans along with the ground black pepper and mix gently.
Lower the heat and continue cooking covered for 30 minutes or until the flat green beans are tender.
Serve in a deep plate and add the olive oil.
It can be tasted hot or at room temperature, knowing this is classified as a "cold" Lebanese meze dish.
