- Air flow is reduced, put your hand facing an A/C diffuser and pull it out slowly, you will notice the pulsed air reaches a shorter distance
- Uncomfortable ambience inside the car at night, with the A/C being too cold
- Uncomfortable ambience inside the car under the sun, with the A/C lacking efficiency
Peugeot 508 cabin (pollen) filter location
The cabin filter of the Peugeot 508 of the first generation is located within the dashboard central console, and is accessible from the left side of the vehicle.
Look well from beneath the steering wheel of your 508 and you will notice that a removable panel next to the gas pedal is there, held by a screw. Take out the screw (Torx) and pull the panel towards the engine compartment to free it.

Take also the panel above the pedals by rotating the holding pins with your hand (90 degrees rotation),
Gently pull it out of the pedals by tilting it in a manner to be able to remove it completely from the car.
You will then see the Peugeot 508 A/C unit and the access trap to the cabin filter with a small handle designed to be held with your fingers.

Press on the latch and pull out the access trap, then the cabin filter of the 508.
Take it out gently and bend it so you can extract it from within the 508's gas pedal and bottom of dashboard.

Refitting a new cabin filter in a Peugeot 508
If you have a vacuum machine at hand, clean the cabin filter compartment prior to refitting the new one.
Reverse the above steps, make sure however to observe the following when refitting the filter:
Gently and patiently refit the dashboard bottom panels and make sure they are well fixed so they don't fall when driving.
