The below troubleshooting guide is widely compatible with any of the KAMA and KIPOR KDE 2000, KDE3300, KDE5000, KDE5500, KDE6000 and KDE6500 generators and any single cylinder engine diesel generator of any make and model.

Diesel engine troubleshooting guide - procedure

Malfunction
Cause & Remedy
Diesel engine does not start despite cranking
Check the fuel level and add fuel
Diesel engine does not start despite cranking
Make sure the fuel valve below the diesel reservoir (fuel cock) is well open
Diesel engine does not start despite cranking or attempts to start and stops immediately after
High pressure injection pump and /or nozzle malfunction. Clean or replace diesel injection nozzle.
Diesel engine does not start despite cranking
Make sure the speed control lever is well in the "RUN" position. 
Diesel engine cranks poorly or does not crank
Check the battery especially if not used for a long period. Recharge the battery on an external charger or replace it. Check the built-in battery charger after replacing the battery.

Generator does not generate (produce) electricity -

Malfunction
Cause & Remedy
Generator voltmeter shows a zero volt reading
Check the main breaker and make sure it is set to "ON". 
Generator voltmeter shows a zero volt reading
Worn generator carbon brush set. Replace the excitation brush set.
Voltmeter indicates the right voltage but no power at socket outlet on the control panel
Plug is not well inserted in the socket outlet or the socket outlet is defective. Remove and insert again the cable plug or replace the socket outlet.
Generator voltmeter shows a zero volt reading
The engine is not reaching the 3000 rpm speed. Check the engine and adjust the revolution.
Generator voltmeter shows a zero volt reading
Defective AVR. Replace the AVR but make sure of the carbon brush set before.
