Set your electric grill (griddle, sandwich press) to the maximum heat and turn it on.
Cut the eggplants in 1/2 inch (10-12 mm) thick slices without peeling them.
Put some salt on both sides of the slices.
Use a kitchen brush to spread a thin coat of olive oil on the slices.
Place the eggplant slices in the electric grill (griddle, sandwich press) with some space between them.

Keep aside until serving. Can be served hot or cold.
Add ground hot pepper to taste and pour again a few drops of olive oil on top of it.
