Preparing the garlic and basil spaghetti seasoning
If you're using a wooden garlic crusher:
- put some salt in it,
- add the garlic cloves that have been cut in two as shown in the middle picture,
- crush them vigorously.
Heat the olive oil and add the crushed garlic and the basil.
Keep stirring and have the mix fried for no more than one minute.
Remove from heat and keep aside.

Cooking the spaghetti
- Bring some 2.5 liters of water to the boil in a large cooking pot.
- Add the spaghetti without cutting them even if they do not fit in the cooking pot at the beginning.
- Keep the pot at high heat and uncovered. Stir immediately and then from time to time.
- After 5 minutes, try one spaghetti and check it is almost done.
- The cooking time shall be of 6 to 8 minutes until the spaghetti are just soft ("al dente").
- Pour them in a glass strainer then put them again in the cooking pot, add the seasoning and mix.
- Serve immediately.
It's simple and delicious.
Serve with fish fillet, chicken breast, steak, etc.
