Removing the cylinder head on the Peugeot 1.2 PureTech engine (EB2)

Refitting a new head gasket and the cylinder head on the Peugeot 1.2 PureTech (EB2) engine
Clean well with a soft cloth and any degreaser like white spirit the head gasket surface on both engine and cylinder head sides.
If needed and in case you need to remove some carbon deposits or scale or leftovers from the previous head gasket, you may use a grit 1000 or more sand paper but never less than 1000.

Put the new head gasket in place while fitting it within its intended holding pins on the engine block surface.
Observe well the head gasket from all angles to make sure.

Now put the cylinder head on top of the head gasket and insert the bypass tube that links the cylinder head to the water pump at the same time. Do not forget to insert the bypass tube prior to tightening the cylinder head of the Peugeot 1.2 VTi engine.
This is because you would need to move the cylinder head and tilt it right and left to facilitate the mounting of the bypass tube.

Refit all cylinder head bolts and tighten by hand only up to contact.
Do not tighten yet using a ratchet handle!
Proceed now with the cylinder head tightening as per the below procedure while observing the tightening sequence shown further below:

- Pre-tighten all bolts to 1 mKg
- Tighten then bolts 1 to 10 and last bolt 11
- For bolts 1 to 10, tighten all to 3 mKg following the sequence, then all by 180 degrees following the sequence
- Tighten bolt 11 to 2 mKg.
