The below works concerned a Peugeot 5008 equipped with a turbo-charged EP6 engine (156 HP version).

EP6 timing chain loosening and preparation for removal
The timing chain tensioner bolt is located at the back of the cylinder head (left, see the large bolt below the electrical harness).
Use a 27 socket mounted to a short ratchet handle to slacken it and take it out (right).

Remove the bolts of the timing chain anti-knock pad and remove the pad.

Removing the EP6 camshaft sprockets and timing chain guides
Support the engine and take out its right support.
Remove the inner fender mudguard. See our specific page for fender lining removal.

Remove the water pump actuator (left), loosen the accessory belt (middle, see our specific page about how an automatic belt tensioner works) and take it out.
Make sure to mark the direction of rotation of the accessory belt prior to removing it in case you intend to refit it.

Remove the 3 bolts that hold the ancillary belt pulley and take it out.
DO NOT LOOSEN OR REMOVE the crankshaft hub that is fitted inside (behind) this pulley.

Use a size 27 combination wrench to block each camshaft while loosening the camshafts sprockets.
Remove the sprockets and attach the timing chain to the hood with a rope or bungee.
Remove the sprockets and attach the timing chain to the hood with a rope or bungee.
Loosen and take out the three bolts that hold the timing chain guides and remove the guides.
