4- Timing belt removal on EB2 engine (continued from part 1)
If your drive belt is still in good condition, mark well its rotation (left) then release the belt tensioner (middle) and take it out.
Remove the right wheel, place the car on jack stand and take out the mudguard.

Unscrew and remove the crankshaft pulley along with the water pump belt.
Unscrew and remove the timing cover; the timing belt tensioner and the roller wheel are now visible (right)
Unscrew and remove both tensioner and roller.

Use a large ratchet handle to slacken the crankshaft bolt, take it out and take the EB2 engine crankshaft hub out as well as shown in the picture to the right.
Take out the seal and pull up the timing belt then carefully let is pass between the crankshaft sprocket and the cylinder head to remove it completely.
In this method and unlike the manufacturer's procedure, the camshaft sprockets are not dismantled.
