Before lifting the vehicle for brake pads replacement

Remove the wheel bolts covers if available.
Slacken just a little each of the bolts. Block the opposite wheel with any object to prevent the car from moving once lifted. |

Lifting and securing the vehicle in order to replace the rear brakes
Lift your vehicle by placing your jack in the intended place only, whether you're using a bottle jack, hydraulic jack or diamond jack.

Taking off the used rear brake pads of the Peugeot 5008 or any car
Remove the upper bolt and take off the caliper.
Leave the hydraulic hose and the handbrake cable connected.

Pushing back the caliper piston of the electric rear brakes
Unlike front brakes, you will not be able to push back the caliper piston simply by applying a pressure on it, and this is because of the handbrake. You need them to apply pressure while rotating the piston clockwise.

Fitting new rear brake pads and accessories on the Peugeot 5008
The new rear brake pads are supplied with a set of new fixing clips and bolts, although some kits do not include the accessories, rather only the pads.
Replace the brake pad holding spring with the new one as shown.
If it's not supplied, take off the old spring, clean it, apply a bit of brake grease on it and fit it back.

Place the brake pads in their holders and refit the caliper, hold it temporarily with the new bolts without tightening them yet.
Check the following:
- That the brake pad springs are well in contact with the caliper body (first picture)
- That the hydraulic hose and the handbrake cable are not distorted or bent (second picture)

Final checklist before driving your Peugeot 3008 - 5008
- Turn on the engine WITHOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
- Press the brake pedal several times until it becomes stiff as usual. Do not continue to "pump".
- Apply the electric handbrake and make sure that the light comes on.
- Drive and test the brakes gently, avoid strong braking during the first 100Km after pad replacement.
