Removing the cylinder head of a Peugeot 208

The following pictorial's start point is as shown in the below images. The cylinder head has been removed from the Peugeot 1.2 engine without removing the timing belt. The Peugeot 208 battery and battery tray had been removed as well.

Removing the coolant bypass tube on the PSA EB2 engine
Hold the coolant bypass tube of the Peugeot 1.2 engine firmly with your hand on the side that had been extracted from the cylinder head and pull it out of the water pump casing until it is completely free and the seal is visible.

Removing the drive belt (serpentine belt), alternator and A/C compressor on the Peugeot 1.2 engine

Loosen the alternator fixing bolts and take them out.
Disconnect the alternator cable and wire connector.
Use a large flat screwdriver (middle picture) to pull the Peugeot 208 alternator out of its seat.
Disconnect the alternator cable and wire connector.
Use a large flat screwdriver (middle picture) to pull the Peugeot 208 alternator out of its seat.
Repeat the same for the fixing bolts of the Peugeot 208 A/C compressor.
Keep the A/C compressor connected, do not remove any of its wires or refrigerant hoses.
Attach the A/C compressor with a cable tie in a manner it does not block the engine removal afterwards.

Disconnect the negative battery cable from the Peugeot 208 gearbox:

Disconnecting the main wire harness, clutch actuator and gearbox linkages on a Peugeot 208 1.2 VTi.
Take out the TDC sensor, the fixing screw of the wires harness and pull out the harness in a manner to free it completely from the Peugeot 1.2 engine.
Remove the two fixing bolts of the clutch actuator and take out the actuator.
Use cable ties and tape to attach the actuator tip (piston tail rod) not to let it jump out of the cylinder and leak brake fluid.

Disconnect the gearbox control linkages.
You can try either of long reach locking pliers (left) or two large flat screwdrivers used at a time (middle) to dismantle the gearbox control cable ball joint (right).
